Kuafu Chases the Sun

And so goes one of the earliest versions of this household tale in China. However, did you know that till today, no one is sure of the identity of Kuafu?

Some believe that he was the Chinese equivalent of Icarus, a man who overreached himself and was struck down at the height of his hubris. Others believe that Kuafu was the name of a tribe. And there are some who even believe that Kuafu was the name of a monkey!

In our new adaptation of Kuafu Chases the Sun, we tell the story of a noble hero who places his love of his friends before his own interests, and to that end, seeks an impossible dream.
